Let me start with a few kind words! Francois Sagat, Ty Mitchell, DeAngelo Jackson, and Mickey Taylor are all gorgeous performers. MEN.COM has released several modern gay porn classics. Jason Ebeyer is an extraordinarily talented artist, whose work you might recognize from Troye Sivan‘s animated “Bloom” lyric video. Tom of Finland is one of the greatest erotic artists of all time.
But when you put all of those things together? Sadly, it just doesn’t add up to something great.
The final installment of MEN.COM‘s Tom of Finland tribute was just released, and the concept sounds great on paper. It’s a futuristic orgy co-directed by Francois Sagat and Alter Sin, starring some of today’s hottest gay porn stars. It features animation by Ebeyer, whose credits also include projects with Nikita Dragun, Kim Petras, Bebe Rexha, Icona Pop, and Sabrina Carpenter.
This scene claims to answer the question, “How will sex and erotica evolve into the future?” Instead, it just raises more questions like… What the fuck is going on in here on this day?
There’s a huge disconnect between the sexual content and Ebeyer’s animation. In one corner, you have Francois Sagat wearing a bejeweled mask as he explores a “biodigital sexual playground”. In the other corner, you have nightmarish imagery of the performers having their heads sucked upon by monstrous, phallic plant creatures. While the latter is stunning in its own way, it’s a total boner killer that adds zero value to a mainstream porn scene.
At the time of this post, the scene has a 41% rating from MEN.COM members, which is somehow lower than the truly bleak homemade solo the site released earlier this week.
Before the coronavirus presented a challenge to the adult industry, one of MEN.COM‘s strengths was that they released so much content that the bad scenes were much more forgivable. Now, with only 2-3 scenes released a week, the flops are becoming much more apparent and unfortunately much more plentiful.
