To put it simply, Growl Boys is high-concept gay furry bareback porn. The site combines beautifully illustrated stories with live-action porn scenes, in which the performers don masks and prosthetics to portray satyrs, minotaurs, werewolves, and other various mythological creatures.
One of their recent scenes features work by acclaimed queer artist Joe Phillips, who’s previously worked with DC Comics, Wizards of the Coast, Marvel, and Bud Lite. His series The House of Morecock was extremely popular, and if you look back at certain plot points, it makes total sense that he’s signed on to work with Growl Boys.
While this type of porn might not be “for me”, I appreciate the ambition, artistry, and storytelling that went into this project. I have no doubt that the site will find an audience and continue to grow in popularity.
